How to Burn a CD Timecode Traktor ISO MK2 for DJing




If you are a DJ who uses Traktor software and a CDJ player, you might want to burn a CD timecode Traktor ISO MK2 to control your tracks from the CDJ. A CD timecode is a special audio file that sends signals to the Traktor software, allowing you to manipulate the tracks on your computer with the CDJ. A Traktor ISO MK2 is a specific type of CD timecode that works with Traktor Scratch Pro 2 and higher versions.

In this article, we will show you how to burn a CD timecode Traktor ISO MK2 using a free software called ImgBurn. You will need a blank CD-R, a CD burner, and a computer with Traktor and ImgBurn installed.


Step 1: Download the Traktor ISO MK2 file




The first step is to download the Traktor ISO MK2 file from the official Native Instruments website. You can find it under the Downloads section of the Traktor product page. The file name is Traktor Scratch Timecode MK2.iso and it is about 700 MB in size.


Once you have downloaded the file, save it to a location on your computer where you can easily find it later.


Step 2: Launch ImgBurn and select Write image file to disc




The next step is to launch ImgBurn, a free software that can burn ISO files to CDs. You can download ImgBurn from its official website or from other trusted sources.


After launching ImgBurn, you will see a main menu with several options. Select the option that says Write image file to disc. This will open a new window where you can choose the source file and the destination drive.


Step 3: Choose the source file and the destination drive




In the new window, click on the icon that looks like a folder with a magnifying glass. This will open a file browser where you can locate the Traktor ISO MK2 file that you downloaded earlier. Select the file and click Open.


Next, choose the destination drive where you want to burn the CD. Make sure you have inserted a blank CD-R into your CD burner. You can also adjust some settings such as the write speed and the number of copies if you want.


Step 4: Start burning the CD




Once you have chosen the source file and the destination drive, click on the icon that looks like a big arrow pointing down. This will start burning the CD. You will see a progress bar and some information on the screen. Wait until the process is completed and verify that there are no errors.


Congratulations! You have successfully burned a CD timecode Traktor ISO MK2. You can now eject the CD and use it with your CDJ and Traktor software.


Tips and Tricks




  • You can burn multiple copies of the same CD timecode if you want to have backups or use them on different CDJs.



  • You can also use other software such as Nero or Roxio to burn ISO files to CDs, but make sure you choose the option to burn as an image file and not as a data file.



  • You can test your CD timecode by playing it on your CDJ and checking if it syncs with your Traktor software. You should see a green LED on your Traktor interface indicating that the timecode signal is detected.



  • You can adjust the sensitivity and latency of your timecode signal in the Traktor preferences under Timecode Setup.
